Just want to let you know that I received an awesome green knitted hat from you today. I'm wearing it now, and it's keeping me very warm as the power is going in and out at our Joint Security Stationin Baghdad. I live here with a few hundred US Soldiers and a few thousand Iraqi Soldiers; we are all working together to help ensure both Iraqi and Coalition success under the provisions of the recently enacted Security Agreement. Being a part of all this is pretty amazing – helping Iraqis transition more and more to the rule ofcivil law. The efforts of Iraqi and Coalition forces, and the support of great Americans like yourself has created a situation herein which success – a secure, stable, and free Iraq – is within grasp. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all your support. The only way we can work well into the night here with smiles on our faces is thru knowing that there are great people like you back home who love and support us. Thanks for everything. I love this hat. When I get home to myfamily in Colorado in a couple months, I will be wearing it on the ski slopes as well.

He must have received one of these "regulation beanies". They look a little odd all folded up, but they are the perfect size/weight to wear under their helmets.
